This time we will visit the Yen Ming Tang Buddhist Meditation Centre in Albion to witness Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Birthday and enjoy lunch at the centre. Avalokitesvara is one of the most important bodhisattvas in Mahāyāna Buddhism. The name Avalokitesvara means "the Lord who looks on the World". He is the supremely compassionate helper, and responds instantly to all who ‘with all their mind call on his name’, and is often depicted with a thousand arms and a thousand eyes for that purpose.
After lunch we will visit the St George Serbian Orthodox Church in St Albans. Currently there are 41 Serbian Orthodox parishes in Australia and New Zealand, with two monasteries and one skete.
