IOV | FESTIVAL | In One Voice | 19 March 2017 | 11am - 5pm

[Edited extract from public address]

It’s NOT just about the bagels and cheesecake at this year’s Jewish Cultural Street Festival.

The annual In One Voice festival will include an impressive concert line up, an art exhibition, craft stalls, community stalls, a bagel-eating competition, a cheesecake bake-off, cooking demonstrations and a traditional egg and spoon race.

Ms Weizman said the concert would showcase an “amazing array of talent within the Jewish community”, including the Bashevis Singers (featuring Husky Gawenda) singing Yiddish tunes.
“We’ll also be hearing from Jewku’ladies, a group of women who have taken up the ukulele under the guidance of Karen Feldman, and many, many choirs — some from schools (Sholem Aleichem College, The King David School, Bialik College, and Mt Scopus MC) and others from the community,” she said.

Expect a day of sensory overload as you walk through the sounds, taste and experiences of everything that’s Jewish in Melbourne. Although In One Voice is a great celebration of Jewish culture, open to everyone to attend.
