Join Celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of the 2018 Parliament with the Release of the Official Report!
Two years ago today, over 8,300 people from around the world gathered to celebrate the closing ceremony of the historic 2018 Parliament of the World's Religions in Toronto, Canada.Over the course of the previous week, participants from 81 countries and over 118 spiritual and faith traditions had the opportunity to engage in critical conversations on inclusion, love, understanding, reconciliation, and change. And as the week long program came to a close, the feeling in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre was one of recognition for the critical need for change on the critical issues facing our communities and the critical role of voices of PoWR from diverse communities around the world in this change.
Canadian diplomat, Bob Rae, expressed it best:
"What I think is wonderful about the movement created by the Parliament is that it provides us with an opportunity to reflect and to remind ourselves of certain basic things that we need to understand and, that in fact, require us to change.
It is not that change is an option, it’s that change is the ONLY option."
In the two years since the 2018 Parliament, our world has faced countless challenges. And the interfaith movement has bravely confronted rising hate, increasing levels of inequality, and an ever changing climate.
The Parliament of the World's Religions is celebrating the second anniversary of the 2018 Parliament of the World's Religions with the release of the official 2018 Parliament report, which highlights the inspiring programs that made this global convening such a live-changing event.
