The Department of Home Affairs is looking for a diverse group of up to 10 young people to join the pilot Victorian Social Cohesion Youth Reference Group (SCYRG).

This Group is being established by the Department of Home Affairs' Office of Community Cohesion, in partnership with the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY).

The key criteria for delegates is as follows:
  • Between 18 and 30 years old
  • Maintain an active interest in collaborating with the Government on Social Policy
  • Available for meetings every six weeks and willing to engage with reading materials
 To apply, please send an email to OfficeofCommunityCohesion@homeaffairs.gov.au with the following:
  • A resume/CV – no more than 2 pages. Your CV should include details of 2 referees – include name, role/relationship and contact information
  • A pitch – no more than 1 page or 2 minute video. In your pitch, please address all of the following:
    • What experience you have in working with communities and stakeholders for social change and/or what lived experience and skills you would bring to the Victorian SCYRG
    • How you will advocate for other young people and work with members of the Victorian SCYRG
    • If you are involved in any other youth advisory/reference groups
