The annual Walk Against Family Violence is held to commemorate International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and White Ribbon Day.
The Walk aims to advocate and raise awareness of family violence and the impact it has on women and children in our community as well as pay tribute and commemorate those who have lost their lives to family violence. The Walk is held each year at Federation Square and attracts over 3000 participants who actively participate in campaigning for an end to family violence through marching alongside each other in solidarity and support.Assembly: Federation Square Stage
Scheduled Program
Speakers include Rosie Batty, Annette Gillespie, CEO of Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre and Graham Ashton, Chief Commissioner for Victoria Police. Following on from the speakers, the crowd will walk down Swanston street around the block leading back to Federation Square.
