RESPONDING | PWR Women’s Task Force Releases Statement on Dobbs Decision Overturning Roe v. Wade

On 1 August 2022, the Women's Task Force at the Parliament of the World's Religions released an official statement responding to the US Supreme Court's Dobbs decision overturn Roe v. Wade.
“We affirm that the dignity and human rights of women and girls begin with their bodily autonomy and their right to reproductive control and healthcare…We must mobilize to protect women and healthcare institutions in our communities. We must stand with religious communities affected by these restrictions. We must defend freedom and human rights for women and for all, in America and across the globe.”

6 August marked the 77th anniversary of the first atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. Voices for a World Free of Nuclear Weapons (URI) in partnership with the Parliament of the World’s Religions, UNIFY, Religions for Peace International, Charter for Compassion, SINE Network, UNITY Earth, the Global Security Institute, Pathways to Peace, International Academy for Multicultural Cooperation, May Peace Prevail on Earth, and SGI Office for UN Affairs hosted the first annual Nuclear Prayer Day.
