1. VIC | GOV | UPDATING | Pandemic Response
- Up to 100 people are allowed to visit the home per day — infants under 12 months are not counted in the cap.
- Visitors may be from any number of households and may visit either together or separately.
- Front areas and backyards are considered part of the home.
- Up to 200 people can meet outdoors in a public place from any number of households — infants under 12 months are not included in the cap.
- There are no caps to onsite office work in public and private sectors.
- Workplaces no longer have density limits — except in publicly accessible areas such as lobbies.
- All workplaces with onsite workers need a COVIDSafe plan.
- There are no limits on the number of people who may visit or access hospitals or care facilities.
- Face masks must be worn by visitors to hospitals and care facilities in indoor areas — unless an exception applies.
Masks and face coverings
- You must always carry a face mask with you when you leave home.
- You must wear a fitted face mask in the following settings — unless you have a lawful reason for not wearing one:
-- on public transport
-- in rideshare vehicles, taxis and tour vehicles
-- inside airports and on flights
-- in settings such as aged-care facilities and hospitals — while indoors
-- If you’ve been diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19 — or you’re a close contact of someone diagnosed with COVID-19 — you must wear a face mask if you leave your home or other accommodation for a permitted reason, such as to receive medical care. You must also wear a mask if you’re experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
- you have a medical condition that makes wearing a face mask unsuitable
- you can’t do your job while wearing a face mask
- when communication is difficult for people who are deaf or hard of hearing
- during emergencies
- Children younger than 12 years of agedon’t need to wear a face mask. Children aged 2 years or younger must not wear a face mask, because they’re a choking and suffocation risk.
- The Victorian Government strongly recommends you wear a face mask when at a private gathering or when you can’t stay 1.5 metres distance from other people.
- Face shields, bandanas and scarves are not sufficient.
- You can remove your mask to eat or drink if you’re out in public.
- If you’re stopped by police in a setting where masks are mandatory, they’ll ask you to confirm the lawful reason you’re not wearing a face mask.
Weddings, Funerals and Places of Worship
You shouldn’t attend a wedding, funeral or religious gathering if you’re feeling unwell — you must stay home and get tested.
Weddings
- There are no caps on attendees either indoors or outdoors at a wedding held at a venue. Each venue will need to keep records in line with their requirements.
- A wedding held at a private residence can have no more than 100 people (visitors) — the celebrant and a photographer are not counted.
- There are no dance floor caps.

- To support contact tracing, venues that host weddings, funerals or other ceremonies — including places of worship — must ask every person who’s on the premises for more than 15 minutes to provide their:
-- first name
-- phone number - All venues will be required to use the Services Vic app or a government API-linked digital system for electronic record keeping — venues will have a 28-day window to set this up.

- If you or your family need to leave a violent situation or you don’t feel safe in your home, you can access safe housing. Call Safe Steps on 1800 015 188 or email safesteps@safesteps.org.au 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

QR code systems now have to comply with new rules that better secure the privacy of data and integrate with the Department of Health's contact tracing system.If you are responsible for any venue or facility required to use check-ins, then there may be some changes you need to make.
If you are already using the free Victorian Government QR Code Service for your record-keeping, you don't need to do anything. This QR code system already integrates with the Department of Health's contact tracing system
If you are not using the Victorian Government QR Code Service, find out if the QR code app you are using is connected to the Victorian Government Visitation API here. If it is, you don’t need to do anything – just keep using the app as normal
If you need to change providers because your current provider is not connected, the Victorian Government QR Code Service is easy to use and is free for all Victorian businesses and organisations.

The Australian Government Department of Health has released a vaccination toolkit for disability providers, to help them prepare for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.The dedicated Webpage for disability service providers provides comprehensive information and resources about COVID-19 vaccines.
People with disability 18 years and over with an underlying medical condition are eligible for Phase 1b vaccinations.

COVID-19 vaccines are now being rolled out in Australia. People most at risk of serious illness, and those most likely to be exposed to the virus are being vaccinated first. The Department of Health is committed to making information about COVID-19 vaccines available to everyone in Australia, including multicultural communities.Everyone in Australia is encouraged to get their free vaccination when it's their turn, to help protect themselves, their families and their communities.
5. AUST | MFO | TRANSLATING | My body, my consent: Important sexual violence fact sheets in several languages
Sexual violence is a taboo subject that is often difficult for many communities to speak about. For victims, it can also be a traumatic experience and the shame and stigma can be a huge barrier to seeking help.The a Queensland-based not for profit Multicultural Families Organisation (MFO) supports CALD communities and has produced a booklet about sexual violence.
Presented in English, Arabic, Farsi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Punjabi, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese, the project aims to empower individuals and communities to understand what sexual violence is, what their rights are and where to seek support.

New rent rules are coming to create a safer, fairer system for everyone.The changes to the law clarify the rights and responsibilities of renters and rental providers – from before you sign a rental agreement until after the agreement ends – and apply to all types of tenancies.
The law changes include a ban on rental bidding and eviction without a reason, as well as setting new rental minimum standards and allowable modifications by renters.

The Suitability Panel in Victoria (SPV), established under the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005, conducts hearings, and makes findings primarily as to whether or not an out-of-home carer should be disqualified from being a carer.The Minister for Child Protection, Luke Donnellan MP, is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people to appoint as members of the Suitability Panel in Victoria.

Nominees must work, study, or reside in the Port Phillip and they need to be able to demonstrate:
- Community networks and linkages within the local multicultural community in City of Port Phillip.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the local issues that are of relevance to multicultural communities.

Applications for funding through the Priority Response to Multicultural Communities during Coronavirus (COVID-19) Phase 2 initiative are now open. Applications funded through Phase 1 of the Priority Response to Multicultural Communities during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) grants program are eligible to apply for Phase 2 funding. The program will ensure organisations can respond to the current health crisis and its impacts for multicultural and faith communities, with a focus on providing support to those communities and areas most in need, and in particular to respond to the distinct and disproportionate challenges experienced by CALD women and young people and new and emerging communities. 14. VIC | GOV | GRANTING | Volunteering Innovation Fund Round Two | applications close 6 May 2021
Parks Victoria wants to help create new volunteering opportunities for people of all backgrounds.If you've got a bright idea for a project that will encourage Victorians from diverse backgrounds to volunteer in our state's parks and forests, then you should consider applying for the latest round of the Volunteering Innovation Fund.
Funding of up to $50,000 per project will be available.
15. VIC | GOV | GRANTING | Extended Support For Clubs, Associations And Leagues
Announced 26 April 2021, applications were open for a third round of the Victorian Community Sport Sector COVID-19 Survival Package, with clubs able to apply for $1,500 and associations and leagues able to apply for $2,500.Clubs that received a $1,000 boost in the first or second round of the package will also automatically receive a $750 top-up, while leagues and associations funded in the first or second round will receive a further $1,500 top-up. No additional application is required from those organisations and payment will be made over the coming weeks.

16. VIC | GOV | GRANTING | Latest Round Opens For Emergency Volunteers
Announced 23 April 2021, the opening of applications for the latest round of Victoria's Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP), with $14.4 million available for our dedicated volunteer agencies.VESEP is an ongoing, annual program that provides emergency services volunteer groups with grants to help fund operational equipment, including the purchase of new vehicles, trucks, tankers, watercraft and trailers.
Volunteer groups can also put the money towards minor facility improvements, including refurbishments and amenities, such as kitchens and change rooms.
Under the program, the Government matches every $1 paid by volunteer groups with a $2 co-contribution, with grants of up to $150,000 available.

Preparing for your National Disability Insurance Plan and managing your plan can be daunting, particularly if English is not your main language or if you are new to the Australian disability services.Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria's (ECCV) Nimo Hersi and Janet Curtain from Power in Ethnicity & Culture partnered with WIRE to create this short video, which gives women from CALD backgrounds some tips on making the NDIS work to support their needs and choices.
