WELCOMING | New YEF board members
YEF is pleased to announce the appointment of two new non-executive directors, Cara Spencer and Gavin Lewis to the YEF board.
Meet Cara Spencer
Cara is a highly experienced corporate affairs practitioner with a background spanning community, government, industry and corporate organisations. Her passion for people and planet has driven her career, taking on executive roles with some of Australia’s leading charities and most innovative service providers.
"What do you bring to the YEF board?"
As a corporate affairs practitioner my skill set includes government and media relations, community engagement, issues management, marketing strategy, stakeholder communication, business development and fundraising. Throughout my career I've been responsible for leading high performance teams to deliver complex, sometimes contentious, and always compelling campaigns for a wide range of causes.
"Why did you choose YEF?"
I've always been 'cause-driven' in my work; and every organisation I've been part of has had a focus on achieving better outcomes for marginalised communities or the planet. Most recently that cause has been sustainability, through innovation in emissions reductions for carbon heavy industries, and driving the increased use of recycled materials in infrastructure. When I heard of the opportunity at YEF, I hoped to share my skills and experience to support the innovative and impactful work you do.
Meet our new team member, Divya!
A mechanical engineer by qualification, Divya has over four years of experience in the hydrogen, community batteries, and solar energy sectors, spanning system design, installation, innovation, and business development roles in India, UAE, and now Australia.
She joins in a full-time role as Energy & Storage Project Officer and will be working across the organisation supporting various projects. Welcome Divya!
SUPPORTING | Our Campaign
Here's your monthly reminder to check out our new campaign to promote community batteries and their role in the clean energy transition.
We're inviting everybody to be inspired, engage with us, and test your knowledge about community batteries through our interactive quiz!
You can find where the YEF tram is at any time by using the Yarra Trams tramTRACKER app. Tram #3033.
Alongside the launch of our tram we are running a fun and interactive quiz to test your knowledge and have your say on community batteries.
You can support our campaign by taking the quiz and sharing your results with your friends and family! The more people that participate, the more we can spread the word about the need for energy storage.
Each respondent is automatically entered into a prize draw with a chance to win a 6-month subscription to Lug+Carrie e-bike rental service! Huge thanks to Yarra Trams for sponsoring this campaign.
