After several postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ECCV are pleased to host the 10th Annual Walter Lippmann Memorial Oration next month at the Wheeler Centre.
The Honourable Tony Pagone AM QC, an eminent lawyer who has widely practised in taxation, administrative and human rights law. A former judge of the Victorian Supreme Court and Federal Court, he became the first ever Australian President of the International Association of Judges. In addition to his contributions to the legal profession, he has also served as a dedicated advocate for multiculturalism and was previously President of Co.As.It., one of ECCV's founding members.
The Oration is held in honour of Walter Lippmann AM, one of the founders of ECCV and a leading advocate for Australian multiculturalism.
Since the Oration was launched by former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser and delivered by Tim Costello AO in 2011, it has been a forum for eminent Australians to reflect on multiculturalism in the contemporary world. Former speakers have included distinguished Australians like Professor Marcia Langton AO, The Hon Michael Kirby AC and former Race Discrimination Commissioner Tim Soutphommasane.
