Talk and Taste with Farhad Bandesh
Listen to inspirational speaker Farhad Bandesh who fled Iran in 2013 and was one of dozens of refugees who were rushed to Australia from Papua New Guinea and Nauru for emergency medical treatment. He was released from Melbourne Immigration Transit Accommodation on his 40th birthday in December 2020 after almost eight years in detention. Sadly, his journey doesn’t end there because last month he received a letter telling him “settlement in Australia is not an option”.
Since joining our community here in Australia, Farhad has shared his skills as a guitarist, artist and now a winemaker.
