FCCV | GATHERING | 2022 Victorian Interfaith Networks Festival | Sunday 13 November 2022 | 12noon-4.30pm

[Edited extract from public address]

The Victorian Interfaith Networks Festival is a celebration of cultural and faith diversity, bringing together people from all walks of life, and providing a great networking opportunity.

In 2022, the event will be hosted by the City of Boroondara and the Boroondara Interfaith Network, and held on Sunday November 13th @ the Hawthorn Arts Centre.

This year’s theme will focus on issues affecting young people:
  • What creates a sense of belonging for young multicultural people?
  • How are young people negotiating religion, sexuality and diversity?
  • What community projects are young people participating in?
Keynote speaker will be Lunorphare (Luna) Folly, Youth Commissioner of the Victorian Multicultural Commission. Born in Benin in Africa during a time of civil war, his family fled to neighbouring Togo, which was his mother's home town. His family stayed in a refugee camp there for seven years before being selected to move to Ballarat in 2008 when he was just eight years old. Come and listen to Luna’s refugee journey and what created a sense of belonging for him in regional Victoria.

This free festival will include multicultural food, stands, music, dance and workshops.
