Closing soon after its third year, the Melbourne Art Trams project showcases some of Victoria’s brightest artistic talents as they transform our city’s iconic trams into mobile art installations.
This year’s creative focus was conceived in association with MPavilion. Established and emerging artists were invited to take inspiration from Melbourne’s architectural landscape and design a tram that responds to how design and architecture define the character of the city.
A revival of the Transporting Art project that ran between 1987 and 1993, Melbourne Art Trams is made possible through a creative partnership between Melbourne Festival, Yarra Trams and Creative Victoria.
