VMC | UPDATING | Community on translated materials on coronavirus safety requirements, QR Code Service, Pillars of Light | Thursday 3 December 2020

[Edited extract from public address]

We continue to record zero coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Victoria and are grateful to all the communities in Victoria for playing their part in getting us here.

Message from the Chairperson

I am proud of our achievements and look forward to having a COVID-Safe summer with the end of year festivities.

3 December is United Nations International Day of People with Disability. I encourage you to share the stories of people living with a disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions. I share my personal reflection on this significant day.

This week we're sharing in-language materials on the latest health advice to keep us on top of coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as materials on coronavirus (COVID-19) safety requirements for workplaces and community spaces.

We are also sharing information for businesses to register for the free QR Code Service to keep records of visitors.

Lastly, we share details of the Chanukah - Pillars of Light program at Federation Square from 10 to 17 December and invite you to be involved.

Stay well and look out for each other,
Viv Nguyen, Chairperson

Translated materials - signage and posters for your workplace and community groups

With businesses back open in Victoria, we need to make sure we continue being

Victorian Government's free QR Code Service

Victorian business owners can now access a free QR Code Service to keep records of visitors. It’s as simple as registering your business, downloading and printing a poster with the Victorian Government QR Code and displaying it prominently in your business. Vistors will scan the QR code using their smartphone camera and these records help contact tracers in the event a positive case of coronavirus (COVID-19) is identified.

Chanukah - Pillars of Light

Pillars of Light, in celebration of Chanukah, is providing Melbournians with an opportunity to come together over a multicultural celebration, focusing on what unites us as a city. Each evening features a bespoke program highlighting the core precepts of connection and collaboration through guest speakers, dignitaries, artistic performers, cultural groups, sports people and more, who’ll be invited to sign the pillars with a note, bringing together our varied communities through hope, positivity, love and light.
