      Shared Stories
"I am deeply grateful to have begun my journey at Space2b, where the spirit of entrepreneurship is nurtured and championed in women, and our stories are brought to life." – Aliet from Umbrellus (Entrepreneur)
"Space2b offered me and countless others the most fundamental but vital feeling of belonging in a society where one often feels hyperconnected, and yet, still alone. "Working with Space2b has made me feel that my skills are valued here in Australia and leading the Story tellers has been a joy! Watching these women grow into confident storytellers fills me with pride. Their resilience has inspired me deeply. As a storyteller and trainer, I’ve learnt that language is power and there’s nothing more beautiful than expressing your story in your mother tongue.  I look to 2026 with excitement." –  Rohini
"Space2b has given me joy and friendship here in my new home! At Space2b I learn English by chatting and making and use my sewing skills which makes me feel seen. CoPP | GOV | WORKSHOPPING | Shaping the Future of Community Infrastructure in Port Phillip

      [Edited extract from public address]

Port Phillip is home to over 220 community groups and not for profit organisations.

Community members use facilities and spaces to connect using sport, art, learning, health or social connections to improve their quality of life. This community infrastructure is the fabric that binds the community and now is the opportunity to think about what it could be like in the future.

Help Shape the Future of Community Infrastructure in Port Phillip
Our Port Phillip community is changing, nearly 150,000 more people are expected to call Port Phillip home by 2036. This means our community infrastructure such as libraries and community centres will need to work even harder for everyone.

City of Port Phillip (CoPP) is developing a Community Infrastructure Plan (CIP) for 2026–2051 to guide how we plan and deliver community facilities and services across Port Phillip—including in the emerging neighbourhoods of Fishermans Bend.

We want to hear from you!
From Monday 6 October to Sunday 2 November 2025, we’re inviting you to share your ideas and feedback to help shape the future of community infrastructure in Port Phillip.

Tell us what matters to you through the Have Your Say page below, your input will help guide how Council plans, manages, and delivers the spaces and services that bring our community together.

      What is community infrastructure?
It includes the buildings, spaces, and services that support the social, cultural, educational, and recreational needs of our growing population. These can be provided by government, not-for-profit, or private organisations, and may include:
      • Libraries and multipurpose community spaces
      • Arts and cultural venues
      • Community health facilities
      • Neighbourhood houses
      • Early years services such as kindergartens, maternal and child health, and toy libraries
Council plays a key role in planning, delivering, and managing this infrastructure to meet the needs of our community.

      Why is the CIP important?
As our population grows and changes, demand for community infrastructure increases. The CIP will help ensure future investments are aligned with community needs and priorities—so we can continue to support a connected, inclusive, and thriving Port Phillip.

      In person Workshops
If you use community infrastructure or not, we’d love to hear from you. Register to attend one of our workshops.

Every workshop participant will receive a $20 supermarket gift cards!

Workshop participants are capped at 30 per workshop.

      MEETING | Our Special Guests

Kaustav & Neha are our special guest chefs for our Diwali feast on Friday 17 October. Their culinary journey began early, inspired by their parents and a shared love of authentic, traditional cuisine.

Together, they launched Aussie Nukkad in 2018 – beginning with fresh Indian snacks and meals prepared from home for friends, family and colleagues. Their food quickly grew in popularity, and today they cater for weddings, markets and major events, always staying true to their roots while reimagining classic dishes.

Caisha Sprout is our special entertainment at Space2b's Diwali Dinner with friends on Friday 17th October. Caisha is an exciting Melbourne-based songwriter, whose music grows from her own rich and unique creative roots. Deeply inspired by blues, soul & funk, Caisha brings an earthy blend of guitar and vocals—music that you don’t just hear, but feel.

Her narrative is a reflection of the broader Australian story – an Aussie girl, the daughter of migrant parents, contributing to the vibrant, multicultural community we celebrate today.

Jessie Hillel will be performing at our Festive Shades exhibition opening on Friday 10 October 2025. Exploding onto the R&B/Pop scene, singer, songwriter and producer Jessie Hillel takes on her alter ego Jhm (pronounced ‘Jim’).

Jessie was runner-up on New Zealand’s Got Talent and will delight you with her take on jazz, soul, R&B, pop, and classical influences, all influenced by her love of Malayalam music.

Join us to meet the artists and artisans and sample some delicious Indian snacks.
