ACM | Station House Opera's Dominos | Saturday 6 February 2016

[Edited extract from public address]

One day. One line of dominoes. A celebration across the city

What: Experience the thrill of thousands of breezeblock ‘dominoes’ falling one by one to create a moving sculpture, running through the city and unfolding over the course of a day. Along paths and promenades, through buildings and across plazas, the domino line works its way through the urban fabric of Melbourne, creating an unforgettable celebration for all who live, work or visit our city.

When: The Domino set-up across the city commences from 1pm. The Domino Fall will start from 5pm

Who: Conceived and directed by UK-based Station House Opera, Dominoes was first created as a celebration to link the five “host boroughs” for the London Olympics Arts Festival and the project has since been presented in over ten European cities.

How: Hundreds of volunteers will help build the domino line! Between October and December 2015, Arts Centre Melbourne called for volunteers to help us bring Dominoes to the streets of Melbourne. Hundreds of volunteers from across our city, Victoria and even from around the world have raised their hands to help bring this artwork to life!

Cost: Free
