Civic, spiritual, and grassroots changemakers from around the world are invited to submit program proposals for the 2023 Parliament of the World's Religions (PWR) taking place in-person in the city of Chicago 14-18 August 2023.
The Parliament is accepting proposals for panels, presentations, workshops, performances, religious observances, art exhibits, and films that work towards a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.
Important Dates to Note
- Proposal Deadline: 3 October 2022
- Decision Sent: 9 December 2022
- Confirmations Due: 15 February 2022
About the Call for Programs
Programming for the 2023 Parliament will focus largely, but not exclusively on:
- The theme of "A Call to Conscience: Defending Freedom and Human Rights"
- The special tracks of the 2023 Convening: Faith and Democracy and the City of Chicago
- Faith and interfaith understanding
- The broad critical issues of our mission statement: justice, peace, and sustainability
- Our critical constituencies: Indigenous Peoples, The Next Generations, and Women and Girls
- Our signature document, Towards a Global Ethic: An Initial Declaration (also known as The Global Ethic)

As you consider your proposal be sure to note the following:
- Each program type has a unique proposal form, be sure to read the session information carefully
- The proposal form must be completed by one individual, the primary presenter or contact person, on behalf of all co-presenters in the proposed session
- Lecture-style presentations with only one presenter will not be accepted but individuals may apply to be placed on a panel with other presenters
