It's time to get ready for Better Together
With just two-and-a-half weeks left until Better Together, it's time to get ready for your Rainbow Gathering for Change.
Here is some of the information you need about when workshop bookings will open, parking, food at the venue, what to wear and more.
Food, transport and more
You can find all the information you need about travelling to the conference on public transport, parking options, food at the venue, facilities, stalls, the quiet room, counselling and more on the conference's Accessibility Page.
What to wear, what to bring
The weather in Geelong in June can be chilly and changeable. We recommend bringing warm clothes and a raincoat or umbrella. We will be inside for the conference, and the venue is heated, so layers are helpful.
The stadium is walking distance from much of Geelong's accomodation, and from the train station, so you may spend some time moving around outdoors - we recommend comfortable walking shoes .
If you are joining us for The Long Walk Welcome to Country and Opening Ceremony 9am on Friday (arrive 8.45 am at gate 9), you will need appropriate shoes to walk along the grass.
You might also like to think about bringing a refillable water bottle, snacks (although food and coffee will be available for purchase), a notebook and pen, business cards (or get a digital business card) in case you want to quickly swap contact details with the new friends and collaborators you meet.
Eventee app
This year we will be using Eventee as the conference app. And a big thank you to Drew Browne from Unusual Risks Insured for sponsoring the conference app! Later this week, you will be invited to join Better Together on Eventee and download the app to your phone.
When you do, you'll be able to create your own itinerary of sessions to attend, explore the speaker bios, and recieve messages from our team throughout the conference.
Workshops
To enable truly dynamic and interactive workshops, this year we have made two changes. The workshop facilitators have had more flexibility in setting the duration of their workshops, and we have two dedicated workshop spaces, with moveable furniture.
By being better able to respond to the needs of the workshop facilitator and attendees, we hope to provide an even more meaningful workshop experience.
Because of this, some workshops are quite long, and others are much shorter. There will also be limited capacity in each workshop.
To enable the workshop facilitators to plan for numbers, we will open up bookings for workshops one week prior to the conference. This is to allow as many people as possible the opportunity to book in, and to give you time to think about what you might like to attend.
Workshop bookings will happen via the Eventee app. It's really important that you only book into a workshop in which you intend to take part, as there will be limited places in each.
More information will be emailed to you in the lead up to workshop bookings opening the week prior to Better Together.
