The topic of men's violence against women has been receiving increasing attention in the Australian media, sparking long-overdue discussions about the attitudes that men hold about women and girls.
Join this NCJWA and Coalition Against Trafficking in Women Australia (CATWA) insightful webinar about the never-ending issue of sexual violence towards women. One form of male violence that has received considerably less public attention is sex trafficking. Often hidden from public sight, the trafficking of women and children for sexual exploitation is part of a broad continuum of men's sexual violence. Australia is a key destination for the trafficking of women from South-East Asia, which has been found in both licenced and unlicensed brothels throughout the country.
In this interactive event, we'll discuss sex trafficking as a form of male violence against women and offer both legislative approaches and grassroots ways we can all help to fight it.
