Discussing his latest collection of short stories Dark as Last Night. Released in 2021, this powerful new collection won the 2022 NSW Premier’s Literary Award and the Queensland Literary Award for Fiction.
Professor Tony Birch is the bestselling author of The White Girl, Ghost River, Blood, Shadowboxing, Father’s Day, The Promise and Common People. He has won numerous literary awards including the 2016 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Indigenous Writing, the 2017 Patrick White Literary Award, and the 2020 NSW Premier’s Award for Indigenous Writing.
