NT | GWS | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Women's Shelter

Galupa Women's Shelter (GWS) have raised two thirds of what they need to protect women and babies at Galupa and to help them stay on their homeland.

With Jan 26 coming up, Gayili shared with me that she hopes we can all have a peaceful day where we can walk together and celebrate the Country that we are on.

If you can, we know the women and babies at Galupa will be overjoyed if you can support them for Jan 26. Let's amplify the incredible work of Gayili tomorrow by sharing her story with friends and family!

Gayili has a message for you that you can watch on her campaign page.

Gayili is an award winning humanitarian and is credited for turning the suicide rate in the area from the then highest documented in Australia - to zero.

Together, let's help Galupa Women's Shelter to continue its irreplaceable work across the region protecting First Nations Women and their Children, who like anyone else in this country are entitled to live safely and with dignity.

VIC | JDFS | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Farm Sanctuary

This is an urgent appeal on behalf of J&D Farm Sanctuary (JDFS) and their newest rescue, sweet baby Gloria.

The poor girl was found in one of the worst situations you could imagine, both her back feet had been torn off, she was left to die with infection, maggots, extreme pain, and the inability to walk to find food and shelter.

Funds raised so far have been a god send to this small sanctuary, but they need to arrange specialist surgery ASAP and it won't be cheap.

Debbie from the sanctuary shared:
"Life at the sanctuary is overwhelming, but the calm and gentle nature of beautiful Gloria makes it all worth it. She knows we are helping her now so she is such a little darling letting us change her dressings. She is recovering well, but we need to get her into surgery as soon as possible. We would really appreciate any support as we have so many other special needs animals to care for."
J&D Animal Sanctuary are left with a significant veterinary bill. Gloria's future depends on the kindness of people who feel that her life is worthy. They have been told that with the right support she can live a long happy, and pain free life!

Can you help show J&D Sanctuary and Gloria some love?

Your support means so much.

VIC | VAFS | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards FREE funerals for vulnerable Aboriginal families

Victorian Aboriginal Funeral Services (VAFS) never leave a family with the financial burden caused by the death of a loved one. They offer their culturally safe funeral services irrespective of the families ability to pay.

"We are devastated to announce that our hearse has been written off due to a battery malfunction. Without it, we can’t continue offering free funeral services to the most vulnerable families in the Aboriginal community - families coping with deaths in custody, homelessness, suicide, loss of children, or family violence in a culturally safe way.

We cannot count the number of loved ones we've laid to rest over the 50 years. We've touched the lives of every Aboriginal family in Victoria. We urgently need your help to continue our vital work."

All Aboriginal people deserve a funeral that respects culture, family and the unique community protocols for burying Aboriginal people.

Your contribution will directly impact their ability to provide cultural farewells Aboriginal community members. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will bring them one step closer to the new hearse they so desperately need.

WA | SOS | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Saving Our Songlines: stand up for Murujuga

Last year, Raelene Cooper won a case in the Federal Court that stopped Woodside conducting seismic blasting of sacred Sea Country. Two months later, Woodside started seismic blasting anyway because the federal regulator waved through a new approval. Emissions from the project are a death sentence and are already eroding the world's largest collection of ancient rock art.

Rosemary Island is just one treasure of many at risk in the Burrup - it is home to a globally significant nesting population of threatened hawksbill turtles.
"The gas industry is trying to say it shouldn’t have to consult adequately with First Nations people. This is a system that is deliberately set up to fail us.
Currently, our state and federal governments are both working to make changes to their regulations to make it easier for industry to destroy my Country. Meanwhile, on my Country at Murujuga, Woodside’s Burrup Hub and the Perdaman chemicals urea plant are destroying our sacred sites while the federal Environment Minister sits on a major cultural heritage review that we demanded.
We need your help to fight harder than ever to protect the Burrup, sacred Murujuga rock art sites and songlines."
Will you stand with Raelene in this fight to protect sacred Murujuga rock art sites, songlines and the future of our planet?

Save our Songlines (SOS) is a campaign coordinated by Murujuga traditional custodians fighting to protect Country through community organising and strategic legal and media action.

Don't celebrate, donate. Share this campaign with a friend who wants to protect sacred Country, rather than celebrate Jan 26 this year.

VIC | JDFS | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Farm Sanctuary

J&D Farm Sanctuary (JDFS) and Gloria's story started out as a lamb found in one of the worst situations you could imagine, both her back feet had been torn off, she was left to die with infection, maggots, extreme pain, and the inability to walk to find food and shelter.

Without the help of a caring passerby, Gloria would have died in that paddock all alone. She has now been given a second chance at life.

Upon arrival at J&D Farm Sanctuary, Gloria was whisked off to the vet where it became clear that she needs a lot of help to live pain free and aided support to walk. Gloria's short term needs are dressings (a lot of them), pain relief, antibiotics and a custom wheelchair to keep the pressure off her legs to allow the wounds a chance to heal.

In the next 5 months (until Gloria is fully grown) she will need x-rays, specialists consults, likely surgical amputation to shorten the bones, and prosthetics for future mobility.

AUST | FTP | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Farm Transparency Project

Capturing heartbreaking animal cruelty in Australian farms, new hidden camera footage from a slaughterhouse shows ‘sustainable beef’ cows shot with a rifle up to eight times before losing consciousness and forced into the kill room using a hammer and a metal pipe. Investigators also captured footage of workers jabbing sheep and cows with painful electric prodders, including in the face and genitals, as well as beating, kicking and throwing sheep to the ground.

One cow is documented crying out in pain after having been shot in the head multiple times, while others become stuck in the stunning box and have their head crushed in the machinery, while they continue to display signs of consciousness.

It's not acceptable – these animals deserve better.

Farm Transparency Project (FTP) is calling on the Government to immediately suspend the operating license of all the facilities where illegal activity has been uncovered, and to immediately order mandatory, publicly accessible CCTV in all licensed slaughterhouses. So far, the released footage has helped to permanently close one slaughterhouse and started a parliamentary inquiry into animal welfare.

By donating today, you can empower them to continue their vital work pushing for meaningful change for these animals – if we don't stand up for them, who will?

Let's be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

AUST | OGM | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Truth Telling from Yolŋu Elder

Dr Djiniyini Gondarra OAM is a senior Yolŋu elder, ceremonial lawman, clan leader and a profoundly influential spiritual and political freedom fighter for his people for over 45 years.

An award winning documentary about his life and legacy was released last year, but the 90 minute film merely scratched the surface.

With your help, over 50 hours of footage will be turned by Our Generation Media (OGM) into an extensive library of educational resources that can be used for generations to come.

Any donation of $50 will receive free lifetime access to watch Dr Gondarra's films Our Generation (2010) and Ḻuku Ngärra: The Law of the Land (2023).

QLD | GRT | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards helping buy back Daintree Rainforest land

The Daintree Rainforest and its traditional custodians, the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people, need your help to buy land back.

Shockingly, blocks of land in this precious 120 million year old rainforest are still available to purchase and develop for housing.

With your help, the Gondwana Rainforest Trust (GRT) will purchase, protect and restore this block of Eastern Kuku Yalanji Country, saving it from residential development.

So far, they have helped to return 160,000 hectares of land back to Eastern Kuku Yalanji people.

But they are just getting started!

The successful purchase of this block will be a massive win for rainforest conservation, and one that the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people will be forever grateful for (so will the endangered southern cassowary).

Share this campaign with a friend who wants to give land back, rather than celebrate Jan 26 this year.

CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards First Nations kids, Anti-Logging Protesters and Animal Refuge

[Edited extract from public address]

VIC | WAG | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Saving Wombat Forest

Wombat Action Group (WAG) says when the state government announced an "End to Native Forest Logging" in Jan 2024 it failed to mention that there are NO PLANS to end logging in Western Victoria!

This is an urgent call to support this group of activists who are in a race against time to protect native forests from catastrophic logging of critical habitat.
"With timber sources elsewhere being cut-off, we fear that more forests in the west will be opened up for logging. We urgently need permanent protections for the Wombat Forest and across Western Victoria.

If we don't fight this and fast, they will smash and grab every last log from this forest leaving a catastrophic bushfire risk behind."
The group of activists and citizen scientists need your help to to ensure endangered species are protected from more extensive logging. They won't stop until they ensure the creatures and their habitat are permanently protected.

Can you help this determined group to do all they can to protect this precious forest?

AUST | PATHFINDERS | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Funding a Birth Certificate for an Aboriginal Child

Birth certificates are currency. For some Aboriginal people, their cost is too high.

The links between the stolen generations and the non-registration of Aboriginal births are clear. Many First Nations people are hesitant to reveal their unregistered status, fearing punishment due to the legacy of colonisation. It is also easy to see how poverty becomes entrenched when people are required to pay significant amounts for a document that is mandatory for access to essential services.

Pathfinders Ltd is a not-for-profit company and registered Charity with a large footprint across regional New England North West and Mid North Coast regions of New South Wales. It has assisted more than 19,000 people since 2015 by ensuring Aboriginal people are assisted by mob in the application process. There are still over 100,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who don’t have a birth certificate - please help them keep doors open for generations.

For 17 years, Dakota Saltner did not exist in the eyes of the government. The teenager was born in the remote Indigenous community of Woorabinda, central Queensland, in 2004 but her birth was not registered. Gaining her birth certificate has been life changing. "Just to have a legal document for myself to know where I come from, and also get other IDs for myself like my driver's licence and other legal documents as well," she said. "It's just given me more options."

Essential services can be taken for granted for those of us who have easy access to them.

Show solidarity and chip in to help Aboriginal people and families get their birth certificate for free.

VIC | MNCR | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Companion Animal Crisis Centre

When families experience an emergency like a bushfire, their furry friends have few, if any, options. Many evacuation centres are unable to accept pets making the evacuation process even more stressful.

Without anywhere to go, these animals may end up either running away or being left behind to fend for themselves in devastating bushfires.

Maneki Neko Cat Rescue couldn't let that happen again.

They need our help to create a space where families can entrust the well-being of their pets while they navigate through emergencies like bushfires.

The Crisis Centre will not only safeguard these animals but also offer support and compassion to their human companions.

By supporting the Maneki Neko Crisis Pet Care Centre, you become an integral part of a movement that values every member of the family, no matter how small or furry.

AUST | ILF | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Festive Appeal: Books for First Nations kids

Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) believes Aboriginal kids need their very own books! It is so exciting for them to own a book written in the language they speak at home.

But with Christmas upon us, we have are still to raise the full amount of what we need. We are in desperate need of a Christmas miracle!

If you can, we know the kids will be overjoyed if you could gift another book this year.

The need for these books in remote Communities is so great. Simply because we know that they give Aboriginal children the best chance at learning to read.

Please, share our campaign far and wide with friends and family! Together, I hope we can deliver a Christmas miracle to Aboriginal kids in remote Communities.
With gratitude,
David and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation Team

NSW | DPT | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Animal Refuge

Deep Peace Trust (DPT) is a large animal sanctuary in Australia, continuing to support hundreds or animals and wildlife. We’ve endured the challenges of unprecedented droughts, devastating fires, and major floods, but your support gives us the peace and certainty we need to help the animals every day.

As the year comes to a close, I have to ask if you can add one more of our animals to your last minute giving list this year?

Our sanctuary wish list is a like a Christmas lunch - lots of hay!
  • Buy Breakfast for Bessie the cow and her son Blessed
  • Buy dinner for half of the brumbies in sanctuary
  • Buy a large bale of hay for the sanctuary animals
  • Buy the entire sanctuary breakfast
  • Buy an entire truckload of hay for the sanctuary

NSW | BMNAC | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards helping Aboriginal kids find their Gumbaynggirr voice

When you sponsor an Aboriginal child to learn their Language through Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Aboriginal Corporation (BMNAC), you are sponsoring not only their future, but all of their kids, grandkids and great grandkids into the future who will benefit from growing up speaking it.
"In a generation or so we want to have babies born who grow up speaking Gumbaynggirr as their first language and to bring Gumbayngirr back into everyday use. Already these kids, their language ability is far better than what I was at their age."
The school teaching Aboriginal kids started in 2022 with just 15 students and this year they already have 74 enrolments plus a waiting list!

But without any government funding infrastructure, it’s hard for them to take on all of these new students.

The legacy of colonisation and the Stolen Generation has meant many Aboriginal kids didn't get the chance to learn their Language.

With a new set of classrooms, the school will be on their way to developing a pathway for Aboriginal kids to learn language all the way up to year 12.

Can you chip in for another Aboriginal student to find their Gumbaynggirr voice?

VIC | JDFS | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Animal Refuge

Within the space of a week and half, J&D's Farm Sanctuary (JDFS) saved more than a dozen animals with nowhere else to go.

As you can imagine, sanctuary life changed dramatically. Their newest members are 6 male calves who were only a few days old and due to be culled within 24 hours as well as many baby and orphaned animals with special needs.
"We are trying to do our bit but can only care for so many. John and I are totally exhausted but we are keeping our doors open despite the pressure of time and resources, simply because the need is so great.

We need your help to make sure these animals are safe and comfortable in their new home, ready to start a life with much more love."
With Christmas here, let's extend some festive love to these beautiful humans and the rescues they so lovingly took in.

Can you help these two angels ensure that these beautiful animals have what they need this Christmas?
Thanks,
John and Debbie

WA | DBH | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards helping STOP the destruction of climate and culture

The peaceful emergency protest of a veterinarian, terrified for whales and marine life, led to Marek ‘Maz’ Misiewicz's arrest just 2 weeks ago. He was opposing recent approvals of drilling and seismic blasting at Scarborough gas field with climate activists, Disrupt Burrup Hub (DBH).

He is yet another in a long list of peaceful climate activists who have been arrested, charged and convicted in the past month. They are protesting Burrup Hub because it is a death sentence.
“I am blockading access to NOPSEMA's office after they approved Woodside's destructive plans. The toxic relationship between the regulator and fossil fuel companies is alarming. As a veterinarian, I must safeguard wildlife, and Woodside's activities threaten marine life and escalate climate change. We need to stop the government from approving the Browse gas field this summer, or we'll be back with more blockades.” – Veterinarian Marek ‘Maz’ Misiewicz
Attaching himself to a concrete barrel in a four-wheel-drive outside the office shared by NOPSEMA, Perdaman, and Woodside's North West Shelf holding company, he disrupted all traffic on the major Perth road during rush hour.

With the full force of the WA police against them, Disrupt Burrup Hub need your support now more than ever.

Remember, the fight for Burrup Hub is a fight for our only home, planet Earth.

Share far and wide to make sure this injustice doesn't go unnoticed!

CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Activism for Climate Defence, Asylum Seeking, Animal Refuge and Anti-Discrimination

[Edited extract from public address]

NSW | RT109 | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Legal Defence of Rising Tide 109

At the world's biggest coal port, 109 climate activists were arrested. Among them, 97 year old Alan Stuart, a church minister who, for the first time, took a stand against climate inaction by participating in a peaceful protest at the Port of Newcastle.

Alan was inspired by concern for his grandchildren and future generations. Help cover legal costs for him and the other 109 arrested in the Rising Tide blockade.
“I am doing this for my grandchildren and future generations because I don’t want to leave them a world full of increasingly severe and frequent climate disasters. I am so sorry that they will have to suffer the consequences of our inaction. So, I think it is my duty to do what I can and to stand up for what I know is right.”
The 30 hour blockade brought together flood and bushfire victims, coal miners, and students using kayaks and floats to demand urgent climate action.

With impending legal challenges, including court costs and fines, Rising Tide 109 (RT109) need help to keep fighting.

NSW | SUZIE | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards helping bring Hazara family to Australia

Hazaras are one of the “most persecuted people in the world”. This Hazara family offers just one story of hope – will you help them travel from fear to freedom?

Whilst they have been able to escape to Pakistan, authorities have been cracking down on families like theirs who are in hiding without Pakistani visas.

If they are found out, they will be deported back to Afghanistan and directly into the hands of the Taliban. This has been happening at an alarming rate, so the urgency to rescue them is increasing each day.

Ali was a doctor treating Afghan police and army. Because of his previous work, his mother, brother and three sisters are now at risk of Taliban retribution.

His family is barely surviving with no income or social support. They are losing hope.

This is an urgent call so that they can raise funds for the Community Support Program allowing them to get to Australia.

Can you chip in and help this family with a chance at a new life in Australia?

VIC | JDFS | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards helping these beautiful animals for Christmas!

It's been three months since John and Debbie from J&D’s Farm Sanctuary (JDFS) recently took in many new baby lambs, goats and calves. Within the space of a week and half they rescued a blind baby goat, a blind calf, a goat family and 2 orphaned lambs – one with a broken leg, as well as 6 male calves only a few days old who were due to be culled within 24 hours.

They managed to build safe areas for the animals with health issues or permanent impairments! Now they really need to prepare for the rest of their lives to be as comfortable as possible at their little sanctuary.

Here's an update from Debbie:
"Bump the blind cow and Daisy the wobbly legged lady love their new paddock! But the hay feeder and troughs are for the goats and way too small for them.

The lucky six calves were rescued at the 11th hour, at only a couple of days old they were due to be culled. These babies are currently living in the same paddock as the pigs who keep stealing their hay. We have a lush paddock with no-one in it, but to move the calves we need to build a big tree guard for the trees just planted and a shelter - the calves love their shelters!

In our special needs area is Arthur the lamb with contracted tendons and JK47 the lamb who had a broken leg (which has healed) but now has tendon damage in his other back leg. For him it will be a problem for life. This space needs far more shade - the heat is a killer!"
We are trying to do our bit but can only care for so many. John and I are totally exhausted but we are keeping our doors open despite the pressure of time and resources, simply because the need is so great."

Can you help these two angels ensure that these beautiful animals have what they need this Christmas? 🎁

AUST | NJP | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Stopping Discrimination in Australia

The National Justice Project (NJP) are calling for a royal commission to thoroughly investigate the use of weapons by police and their responses in mental health emergencies. Such a commission could examine police practices, training methods, and alternative approaches that prioritise the safety and well-being of individuals in crisis.

For the next two weeks, all donations to National Justice Project are being matched! Double your donation today

State governments, driven by misguided "tough on crime" campaigns, are unwittingly granting police increasingly extreme powers without sufficient accountability. Simultaneously, mental health services are being starved of the funding they desperately need.
"The tragic deaths of 47-year-old Krista Kach, 95-year-old Clare Nowland and Todd McKenzie are just a few examples of police force being used against people who need specialised mental health support. They are shining a light on the inadequacy of police training and response mechanisms. Alarmingly, these are not isolated incidents.

We are advocating for a shift towards models like the one in Denver, Colorado, which diverts individuals away from the criminal justice system and dispatches therapeutic response teams instead of armed police to address mental health crises."
With your help, they will fight for urgent reform to make the ensure people in crisis get the help they need and continue their vision to end discrimination in all its forms.

VIC | LfF | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards keeping Greater Gliders safe from planned burns

These little animals keep their babies in their pouches for three months, all the while gliding over 100 metres between trees!

Lawyers for Forests (LfF) at Save Our Strathbogie Forest are so in love with these little cuties, and really need our help to make sure they don't go extinct from human actions.

The group is taking legal action to make sure that planned burns are as safe as they can be for this endangered cutie and the hollow trees that they call home.

Will you stand with these animal lovers to protect an animal with no voice of its own?

WA | DBH | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards helping us STOP the destruction of climate and culture

The legal system is yet again being weaponised against environmental defenders - the very people trying to protect the future of humanity, despite the risk to their freedom and their lives.

Two climate activists from Disrupt Burrup Hub (DBH) have this month been convicted and fined for failing to allow police access to their devices.

Joana, who also works for the Australian Greens, was fined $1,200 after police admitted they raided her home in relation to "potential future offences". Jesse Noakes was similarly fined $1,000 plus court costs, but remained resolute in his commitment to protect the confidential information of people who bravely shared their stories with him.
“At its core it’s about maintaining the power structures in place. Smearing defenders as lawbreakers distracts from the cause and changes the narrative."
This criminalisation of environmental protestors is now the most common tactic used to silence and discredit defenders.

The real cost in all of this is of course, our planet.

Here's how you can help:
  1. Donate today to stand with climate activists from Disrupt Burrup Hub. With the full force of the WA police against them, they need our support now more than ever. Your contribution will directly aid their fight to disrupt the largest fossil fuel project in Australia.
  2. Share this message far and wide! Let your friends and family know that the fight to stop Woodside's Burrup Hub is the fight for our only home, planet Earth.
  3. Join the conversation using the hashtag #DisruptBurrupHub and #NotTerrorists. Let's make sure this injustice doesn't go unnoticed!
Together, we can disrupt the Burrup Hub project and protect our planet for generations to come!

WA | DBH | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Disrupt Burrup Hub's legal defence fund

In a shocking turn of events, the decision to hand over confidentially shot footage of activist group Disrupt Burrup Hub (DBH) by ABC Four Corners to WA police.

Disrupt Burrup Hub is pushing the boundaries of activism to save our environment. This move by the ABC and WA Government threatens their vital work.

The Four Corners investigation was an exposé into the lengths the WA government, police and media will go to protect the interests of Woodside’s Burrup Hub. It followed the Disrupt Burrup Hub campaign leading up to a protest by 19-year-old campaigner Matilda Lane-Rose outside the house of the Woodside CEO, where Ms Lane-Rose was ambushed by more than a dozen counter-terror police lying in wait.
"I am a campaigner with Disrupt Burrup Hub as well as leading campaigns on other issues that affect my First Nations people such as deaths in custody, homelessness and protection of our sacred tribal lands. I was filmed by Four Corners on multiple days as part of the program they produced about police repression of climate protest in WA. I did not consent at any point to have my footage handed over to WA police. I consented to be filmed for a Four Corners investigation. I never consented to be filmed for a WA Police investigation.

As a First Nations justice campaigner with lived experience of incarceration, I am deeply concerned that the ABC may cause the imprisonment of vulnerable people by surrendering source material to police. Given that I work on a number of other social issues affecting my First Nations community with other campaigners involved with Disrupt Burrup Hub, it is quite possible that confidential discussions that have no relevance to the Four Corners story were still captured by the ABC. I do not consent to WA police being given any of this footage, and if the ABC hand over any footage it will be a deep betrayal of people who trusted the ABC to give them a voice.”
It's time to take a stand for freedom of the press and the future of our planet!

Here's how you can help:
  1. Donate today to support Disrupt Burrup Hub's legal defence fund. Your contribution will directly aid their fight to protect our Earth and journalistic integrity.
  2. Share this message far and wide! Raise awareness about this critical issue.

NSW | NHR | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Rescued Hen Enclosures

NSW Hen Rescue (NHR)'s Catherine has had to move between rentals eight times all the while rescuing thousands of animals. While she was devastated to face another massive move, they have finally made it to their new home!!

Here's an update from Catherine:
"All the donations so far have brought my husband and I both so much relief, to see so many people supporting us and our attempts to help the animals.

My husband David has been in and out of hospital with a 13cm blood clot, including a piece that got into his lungs which has added a lot of stress. It was so hard being 8 hours drive apart.

We Made It: Finally, I was able to pay the deposit for the last removal truck and we have arrived at our new location!

The Roosters Are Stoked: While we have finally arrived at the new location, we still have A LOT of enclosures to set up. Right now I have to bring 10 of the roosters in the house at night until I have funds for their houses. It makes for very noisy early mornings as I'm sure you can imagine!

Despite the challenges, we are so pleased to have landed in our new property, knowing that it's a place where we can make an even greater impact on the lives of animals in need. We won't give up on them, and we know you won't either."
Can you help Catherine set up the last of the enclosures? Your donation will go towards housing those noisy roosters, and ongoing veterinary care.

NSW | CPI | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Pig Sanctuary Bushfire recovery

Last week, this incredible non-profit animal rescue Contented Pig Inn (CPI) was hit by a bushfire. Thankfully they were able to protect the animals - but the damage to their property is overwhelming.

"What a day Tuesday was. We knew things were getting dire and the chance of the fires getting to our doorstep was likely. It happened sooner than anticipated and I had raced onto town to get our fuel restocked after the pump and vehicles were filled. No sooner than I was done, I got the call from a neighbour. It was on us. I've never driven so fast. On getting home, the RFS were there with advice to leave. Dave had notified the he was staying and so did I. We had pigs to protect and keep alive. There was never a chance we would leave the pigs.

We worked as a team, we worked hard, and we had 24 hours of the fight of our lives.

And we prevailed. No lives were lost. It was miraculous.

We still haven't slept properly. The smoke has been horrific, but we are alive, and so are the animals.

Thank you to everyone who was cheering us on from afar. We are so grateful for you. We could feel the battle being fought from the sidelines too. You're all wonderful.

It's going to take some time to recover. Physically and mentally I'm sure will have a moment of "wtf just happened" in a few days. For now we are ok, maybe a little wheezy and definitely tired, at worst.

We got this.

If you are able to, we would be so grateful for any and all help with our recovery efforts. The fire has taken its toll on the sanctuary, leaving a costly trail of destruction and a huge cleanup job.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Kathie."
Their small team of volunteers and supporters have worked so hard to create this refuge, which provides a happy and safe life for pigs who have been rescued from neglect and abuse.

Let's show them some love to get through this scary and challenging time.

AUST | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards metal detectors for Ukrainians

Nathan Burraston is working tirelessly to find another way to send essential metal detectors to the region.

A staggering one-third of Ukraine is thought to be littered with millions of unexploded mines. The vast minefields have not only bogged down Ukraine’s military counteroffensive. They risk the lives of children and have rendered the nation's most valuable farmland unusable, impacting both Ukraine's economy and the global food supply.

Despite the challenges, Nathan remains persistent in his efforts to send metal detectors straight to Ukrainians on the ground to save lives. But he needs our help to fund the next shipment via a shipping container on a boat.

Be a part of the Australian community of support for Ukrainians by helping to make their country liveable again.

AUST | PNABCP | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds for Sponsoring Birth Certificates for Aboriginals as a Human Right

Donations have helped Pathfinders National Aboriginal Birth Certificate Program (PNABCP) to offer the basic human right of a birth certificate to more than 19,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

From the bottom of our hearts, we wanted to say thank you to donors. The impact of donations is so much more than a piece of paper. It is finally being recognised and included as a member of society.

We firmly believe that every family who desires a birth certificate should have access to one. That's why we continue to do the work we do each day.

Thanks to your overwhelming support, we are so close to reaching our goal for this year!

We would be deeply honoured if you would consider sponsoring another birth certificate. Together, we can support Aboriginal families to get their birth certificates for free.

The work we are able to do with your support is not always simple, but we never give up. Our team of Indigenous staff know how important this program is – for enrolling in school, applying for a job, starting a business, the list goes on.

We'd like to offer thanks for continued support. We are just getting started with all that we would like to achieve!

CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Moving Beyond Coal, Greyhound Rescue, Chalumbin Preservation, Strathbogie Forest Conservation, Keeping Homeless Mob Dry, Resisting Drought and Bushfire threat at Animal Sanctuary

[Edited extract from public address]

AUST | FOE | CAMPAIGNING | For Moving Beyond Coal

Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek has approved 4 new climate-wrecking coal mines in just 6 months. And she has 25 more proposals on her desk.

Friends of the Earth Australia's (FOE) Move Beyond Coal launched a billboard opposite her Sydney office to send her a message that the Australian public won’t stand for blatant inaction on the climate crisis. They are SO CLOSE to raising the funds they need to keep the billboard up, can you help?

Help send the critical message to STOP approving new coal mines!

NSW | GRRE | RAISING | Funds for new Noodle Wagon

This dedicated rescue finds loving forever homes for greyhounds no longer wanted by the racing industry.

As I’m sure you can imagine, these hounds have been through a lot in their lives. Their last hurdle is the journey to their safe haven at Greyhound Rescue (GRRE).

But right now the team are picking up hounds in a nearly 20-year-old van that has seen better days. It’s either that or they risk having them transported to them which can be dangerous.

Poor Jaskier was brought to Greyhound Rescue in a previous owner's van without air conditioning and had some life-threatening heat stress.

Thankfully he recovered, but the rescue wants to make sure that never happens again by having the best wheels available for the job.

They need our help to upgrade to a more modern, safe and spacious van to make rides more comfortable, for vulnerable rescues like Jaskier who need it.

Can you help these angels get a comfier ride for these precious animals?

QLD | RRA | RAISING | Funds for Chalumbin Documentary: the New Franklin?

If the proposed wind development at Chalumbin (QLD) was a coal mine, there would be huge public outcry to stop it. Yet the proposal to bulldoze native tropical forest right next to a World Heritage-listed area is just one step away from approval.

Sacrificing Koala habitat for so-called "green" energy simply doesn't make sense.

While transitioning to greener energy sources is essential, it shouldn't come at the expense of our endangered species and a highly biodiverse old-growth forest.

The good news is, the construction hasn't started yet, so there's still time to stop it!

"We need to show the world the real and immediate threat these wind farms pose to Queensland's beloved Koalas and their habitat. We want to make a compelling case for the importance of preserving this extraordinary wilderness."

Rainforest Reserves Australia (RRA) needs our help to share this message far and wide in a powerful documentary "The Transition to Extinction."

Can you help to ensure that Chalumbin is protected and remains a sanctuary for our beloved Koalas?

VIC | LfF | SAVING | Strathbogie Forest and The Greater Glider

The Greater Glider is an endangered cutie that most people know little about.

These little animals keep their babies in their pouches for three months, all the while gliding over 100 metres between trees!

Lawyers for Forests (LfF) and Save Our Strathbogie Forest are so in love with these little cuties, and really need our help to make sure they don't go extinct from human actions.

The group is taking legal action to make sure that planned burns are as safe as they can be for this endangered cutie and the hollow trees that they call home.

Will you stand with these animal lovers to protect an animal with no voice of its own?

QLD | DJK | KEEPING | Homeless Mob Dry this Wet Season

Things are getting really urgent with the wet season's arrival. We have a few families who we’d love to be able to house before the rain comes in. One particular family has 4 kids in 2 tents with them and if we can raise enough it’ll hopefully house them.

We also urgently need to set up safe spots, waterproof camps and get some decent wet weather camping gear for those who haven't found a roof yet.

We're not gonna let an Elder or a family get soaked when sleeping on the streets.

But we can't do this alone. We need your help.

Anything you can donate will make a huge difference for our Elders, our wise knowledge keepers, carers, and survivors, who shouldn't be on the streets. But they are, and it's not right.

All donations go DIRECTLY to helping these mob. We DO NOT take Admin fees etc like the big NGO’s and we can provide a 24/7 immediate response to need, as long as we have the resources to do so.  We will continue to look after our own to the best of our abilities!

BIG love
-DJ Kirra, Damo, Aunty Tam, Nathan and Jess.

NSW | DPT | RESISTING | Drought and Bushfire threat at Animal Sanctuary

Deep Peace Trust are the largest animal sanctuary in Australia and every day we look after hundreds of animals and wildlife, all of whom have been through life-threatening circumstances.

Generosity and commitment to our mission have been instrumental in getting us to where we are today, and we want to keep you in the loop.

I'm reaching out to you today because we are currently facing the looming and quite frankly terrifying threat of drought and bushfires. To say the least it has put a heavy burden on our sanctuary, making it increasingly difficult for us to provide the care and safety our animal residents deserve.

We urgently need to establish comprehensive fire preparations to ensure the safety of our animal residents ahead of time. This includes installing surveillance cameras to monitor different parts of the property, equipping our buildings with sprinkler systems, and repairing fences that were damaged during past flooding years.

In addition, the operational costs for our sanctuary have soared. To ensure our animals have enough to eat during the drought, we've just taken delivery of over $30,000 worth of hay. This hay will serve as a crucial backup to feed our animals, but as you can see the bill is substantial.

As we navigate this dire situation, we would be deeply honoured if you would consider supporting us with a monthly donation as we prepare as best we can to survive this season of heat, drought and fire.

Your donation, regardless of its size, plays a vital role in securing the future of our sanctuary and the well-being of the animals we cherish.

We understand that these are challenging times for many, and your support means the world to us. In the past, we've been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our supporters. During bushfires and difficult winters, you've stood by our side and helped us protect and care for our animal residents.

On behalf of all the animals and our entire sanctuary family, we extend our deepest gratitude for your compassion and support. Your generosity will touch lives and help us weather this challenging period. Together, we can ensure that A Place of Peace remains a sanctuary where animals find love, safety, and care for years to come.

CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Animal Rescue, Beyond Coal, Role Models and Relocating Hen Haven

[Edited extract from public address]

TAS | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Small Paws Animal Rescue

Jarrah is an ex-racing greyhound who was listed for free on Gumtree. The poor girl was only three years old but had been all across Australia racing with five different owners. By the time an undercover investigator picked her up, she was infested with fleas and covered in scars.

Small Paws Animal Rescue took her in and were hopeful for her future with a new family. But she refused to eat and became lethargic and was rushed into the vet for emergency care.

Unfortunately her bowel was obstructed by adhesions that had developed before she was rescued. Days after an emergency surgery, she crashed. Her rescuers held her as she was humanely put to sleep.

Small Paws Animal Rescue are left with overwhelming grief and a significant veterinary bill. The combined care fees have wiped out the entire savings of the operators of this small independent rescue. With another 150 animals to care for (including 14 bottle fed orphan lambs, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, cats and other dogs) the loss of their savings has just added more devastation.

Can you help show Small Paws Animal Rescue and angel Jarrah some love?

Your support means so much in this time of sadness.

Right now, Plibersek and her staff can see the billboard from their windows, but Move Beyond Coal need your help to keep the billboard up for another two weeks.

Tanya currently has 25 coal mine proposals on her desk. Help send the critical message to STOP approving new coal mines!

NT | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Getting Role Models In Remote Central Australian Communities

Vanessa is a Luritja, Waramunga & Narrunga Aboriginal woman and professional softball player who is inspiring the dreams of Aboriginal kids in remote communities.

Not only does this program show Aboriginal kids that their biggest dreams are possible, it also gives the role models fulfilment in their own lives by giving back to their communities.
"When young Aboriginal boys and girls are taught by Aboriginal men and women from the same community and similar walks of life, having to jump the same hurdles as them, this has a strong impact in their lives."
Vanessa is hopeful she can bring an even bigger team of role models to remote communities to do their bit to inspire the next generation.

But she needs our help to expand the Deadly Ampe's (kids) program.

Can you chip in to help get these inspiring role models to kids in remote Australia?

NSW | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Hen Haven: Operation Relocation

Catherine has had to move between rentals eight times all the while rescuing thousands of animals. She is absolutely devastated to find out they have been evicted yet again and face another massive move.

Here's an update from Catherine during this challenging time:
"🚚 In the Midst of a Move: We are currently in the midst of the significant move to our new sanctuary location. While I'm living in Grafton at the new place, my husband David is still at our old rental property, eight hours away. We're trying to run the rescue in two places simultaneously and it's overwhelming. The support so far has helped immensely as we work to ensure the animals have safe, comfortable enclosures at the new sanctuary.

📆 End-of-October Deadline: We have a crucial deadline approaching. By the end of October, we need to have fully relocated our rescue operation to the new property, complete with secure nighttime enclosures for our animal family.

Despite the challenges, we are filled with hope for what the new property can offer. It's a place where we can make an even greater impact on the lives of animals in need. We won't give up on them, and we know you won't either."

Can you help Catherine navigate this complex move before the October deadline? Your donation will go towards critical expenses like trailer hire, moving trucks, enclosures, and ongoing veterinary care.

VIC | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards Farm Sanctuary

Wow the support for John and Debbie of J&D's Farm Sanctuary has been phenomenal! They are just $1k away from being able to care for all of their special needs rescues for the long haul.

Daisy the calf who has bowed back legs and was born into the dairy industry. She would have had a terrible fate without their sanctuary.

After rescuing 6 male calves only a few days old who were due to be culled within 24 hours, sanctuary life has changed a lot! But with our help, they can expand to care for all their new arrivals.
“Sanctuary life has become unrecognisable, there is not a moment to stop at all – there are so many mouths to feed, medicine and special attention to be given, John and I are simply run off our feet – but we must go on for the sake of these animals who were simply born the wrong sex, species, or had something wrong with them – meaning they were not valued and were to be disposed of.”
Let’s make their day by helping them raise the last little bit they need!

AUST | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards metal detectors for Ukrainians

For all the western tanks and armoured vehicles given to Ukraine, the fate of the counteroffensive may well lie in the steady hands of sappers.

They are the ones who are helping to find and deactivate land-mines, which involves unscrewing the mine’s fuse, the sappers have to avoid a gruesome array of Russian booby traps.

Here, paramedics carry an injured Ukrainian serviceman who stepped on an anti-personnel landmine.

Nathan Burraston is urgently raising funds for a 7th shipment of metal detectors straight to Ukrainians on the ground to save lives.

The density of the minefields is now “insane”, according to Oleksiy Danilov, a senior Ukrainian security official, who estimated there were as many as four mines per square metre along the front line.

Be a part of the community of support for Ukrainians helping to make their country liveable again.

NSW | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards relocating Hen Rescue

All the animals urgently need transport to their new home (This rescue is moving between rentals for the ninth time in 10 years.

Catherine from NSW Hen Rescue freed Belle the hen from her shackles of an intensive free range farm. Belle the hen needs a hormonal implant every 6 months to stop her laying eggs, or she will die.
“Some people have asked why we don't just re-home the animals we are caring for now, but these are our family members. I would never rehome Belle with her veterinary needs and I would never separate Belle from her best friend Isy.”
Catherine from NSW Hen Rescue has dedicated over a decade to rescuing, healing and loving ex-battery hens and other animals that society has forsaken.

But they have had to move between rentals eight times all the while rescuing thousands of animals. As you can imagine, Catherine is absolutely devastated to find out they have been evicted yet again and face another massive move.

Our donors have already helped them raise 40% of the funds they need to move all of the animals and their enclosures. There is still a long way to go, but Catherine said she feels much more hopeful now that they can get there.

Team Chuffed asks for helping Catherine relocate and keep doing this important work. They can't do it without you.

WA | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards protecting sacred Country and tribal lands

Woodside’s Burrup Hub is set to become Australia’s most polluting project ever. Ancient Murujuga rock art is at stake.

Disrupt Burrup Hub are staging a series of peaceful protests demanding no more industry on Murujuga. Yesterday, at a silent protest outside of Woodside HQ, Ballardong Noongar man Desmond Blurton said:
“They are trying to silence the truth about Woodside’s Burrup Hub from coming out. The truth about Woodside’s Burrup Hub is it is a climate, cultural and natural disaster, and we all need to speak up to protect our sacred Country and tribal lands.”
The silent protestors are calling attention to the intensifying regime of police repression and civil litigation threats against activists, all the while Woodside continues their destruction.

Toxic emissions on the Burrup Peninsula have already eroded the outer layer of the ancient artworks causing the carvings to slowly disappear.

There's still time to stop Woodside from gaining the finance and approvals for its planned Burrup Hub expansions - but we need to act fast.

Please help them protect these precious cultural artworks.

When 32 year old Beau was rescued, he hadn’t seen another horse in 10 years! But the moment he met Dorothy, they have been inseparable.

FreeHearts Animal Sanctuary has saved thousands of animals from neglect, mistreatment and killing. They have done incredible things for old horses like Beau and Dorothy.

But for thirteen years, Jules has been cleaning her sanctuary paddocks BY HAND!

As you can imagine, it has taken a serious toll on her body. She is in urgent need of equipment for not only her health but to make sure she can keep rescuing animals.
“It’s getting so much harder to do as I get older. Soon, I don’t think it will even be possible anymore. It’s overwhelming because I can’t imagine having to say no to an animal that needs us.”
Can you chip in to make sure they can keep the paddocks open to animals with nowhere else to go?

VIC | CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds towards protecting last remaining habitats of koalas, possums, greater gliders and powerful owls

Amy is part of a group of activists and citizen scientists working desperately to save precious and endangered koalas, possums, greater gliders and powerful owls. The forest the group is trying to protect from logging is some of their last remaining habitat.

These animals have already been pushed to the edge of extinction by bushfires. The Wombat Action Group is hopeful they can protect them from more logging, but they need our help and fast!

Amy from Wombat Action Group shared that without funds to increase surveying in the forest, it's more difficult to know where and when to stop logging in its tracks.
“Honestly I don't know what to do. Unless we can somehow get this message out to everyone directly, let them know what's really happening here, I'm not sure these animals have been left with much of a chance.”
Can you help this determined group to protect these precious native animals?

[Edited extract from public address]

WORLD | Aussies Knitting for War Affected NW Syrian Kids

Previous donations have generously contributed to children suffering from displacement and conflict and helped ease them through a bitter winter.

We are now in the final stage of this project, getting 2,000+ packs completed for the kids in NW Syria this upcoming winter. This year it is so much worse. The February earthquake has devastated people and made life so much harder, it that’s possible to imagine.

Last year we were able to kit out nearly 2,500 kids with huge “winter survival packs” for children in 2 schools, 7 large IDP camps, a neo-natal hospital and a mother/baby clinic. These are the kids who benefit directly from your donations, helping them so very much.

Please help us show these kids they matter.

"Some people have asked why we don't just re-home the animals we are caring for now, but these are our family members. Many of the souls we care for have faced terrible horrors and have seen enough torment; they're yearning for a stable, loving home.

The news of our eviction left us devastated. The move is 730km and we desperately need funds to move all of the animals and their enclosures.

Stressful? Absolutely. But we will never give up on our animal family and the many more individuals that we will be able to help."

Can you help Catherine re-build after this massive blow? They can't do it without you.

VIC | Wombat Action Group Protecting Endangered Habitat

Unbelievable! Last year, the government announced that native forest logging would end in Victoria. They failed to mention this would NOT apply to the Wombat Forest, or anywhere else in Western Victoria!

The forests at risk are some of the last remaining habitats for animals like powerful owls, koalas and southern greater gliders that have been pushed to the edge of extinction by logging and bushfires.

The Wombat Action Group is doing everything they can to protect this precious habitat. But they need your help to ramp up efforts and fast.

CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds for Ben Pennings' Legal Defence Against Billionaire

[Edited extract from public address]

Despite already being ‘worth’ $100 billion, Gautam Adani is suing Ben for a whopping $17million. He wants to take away the suburban home of Ben’s family, as punishment for undertaking peaceful climate action. Adani even hired security contractors to follow Ben’s wife and kids around, taking photos without their consent.

Aussie legend Bob Brown called to send his support to #StopAdani protest leader Ben Pennings:
"Billionaire Gautam Adani has bullied my friend Ben Pennings and his family for three years in an aggressive attempt to stifle peaceful protest. Please give Ben your help to fend off Adani's attacks in the Supreme Court and to defend the political freedoms of us all."
Ben told me “Bob’s bravery inspired me when I was a kid, watching the Franklin Dam protests on the 7pm news. We’ve both faced violence, death threats, Murdoch slander and vicious lawsuits. Bob standing behind me gives me the confidence to stand firm, defend the right to protest. People power will and must win.”

Ben isn’t a billionaire - so he needs the support of people like Bob, and you. Can you top up his legal fund to protect peaceful protest?

So far almost 5,000 donors on Chuffed have chipped in over half what he currently needs to defend this vicious lawsuit.

Thank you for defending the people.

CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds for Kids on Nauru Getting Their Day in Court

[Edited extract from public address]

Human rights lawyers at National Justice Project are preparing a historic legal precedent in Australia's treatment of refugees, but they need your help to make it happen.

Years back, the National Justice Project created the legal precedent that forced the government to get kids off Nauru.

Now they're holding the government to account for the hell that 40 families suffered on Nauru - harm that caused almost half the kids to be suicidal.

The legal precedent will protect new refugees arriving in Australia, so kids never have to go through such shameful treatment again.

Will you chip in to make this a reality?

National Justice Project don't accept government funding – they hold them to account. They need the backing of compassionate Australians like you to change the way the government treats refugees.

Everyday people have forced governments to change before by funding legendary legal teams like the National Justice Project.

Let's do it again, and change how Australia treats refugees forever.

Torres Strait leaders Uncle Paul and Uncle Pabai have taken the Australian Government to court in a historic legal case that could spur faster climate action.

Chief Justice Mortimer will personally travel to hear testimony from the community.

Now Elders and Custodians across clan groups need to be transported to Country to have their voices heard by the federal court, alongside the legal team.

Would you chip in to transport senior leaders for this historic hearing in a few weeks?
“Because of climate change our islands are being flooded and our communities could be forced to leave.”
– Uncle Paul and Uncle Pabai
Your support could change the course of history. “Torres Strait Islander Peoples have a long history of fighting for our rights. Eddie Mabo and his co-plaintiffs took on the Government, paving the way for land rights for all First Nations Peoples. Today, we are following in his footsteps, and those of others like him.”

Over 1,000 legends on Chuffed previously chipped in to the legal fund. Now let’s make sure frontline First Nations voices are heard in person for this landmark opportunity for climate accountability.

CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds for Arrestees from End Fossil Fuels Protests

[Edited extract from public address]

One of the harshest laws to stifle protest was recently rushed through, this time by the South Australian government in response to Extinction Rebellion’s headline-grabbing direct action.

It gives me chills after the South Australian mining minister’s promise to the oil and gas industry that the state was “at your service.”

Instead of serving the public, the state government wants to serve future protesters with outrageous $50,000 fines - 66x the current maximum fine!

The protesters say “We’ve spent our lives being polite and complying with rules but no matter how serious climate change becomes, nothing seems to change. We feel there is now no option but to use non-violent civil disobedience.”

Will you chip in to defend their right to protest in court?

These parents, grandparents and workers bravely demanded protection for the people, places and creatures we all hold dear. While punitive laws are being rushed through across the country, your donation can protect everyday people when they take on vested interests for all of us.

Please give what you can to support their courage,

CHUFFED | RAISING | Awareness, Support and Funds for One of Australia’s Biggest Animal Sanctuaries that Needs a Tractor

[Edited extract from public address]

Andrew from Deep Peace Trust runs one of Australia’s biggest animal sanctuaries, and is crowdfunding for a tractor named Chamberlain to move hundreds of kilos of hay at a time.

At the moment the family still has to spend hours a day manually feeding hay even in the rain.

Thanks to fellow animal lovers, they managed to raise a quarter of what they need so far.

But Andrew is worried they won’t have it in him to manually feed over 400 animals needing more hay with winter approaching, and now he’s in his 60s.

All the family needs is 100 more kind folks like you to pitch in $50 to lighten their load. Will you have their back?
“This community of fellow animal lovers has had my back before. Now I need you to help cut down hours of back-breaking work! Whatever you can afford to pitch in will make all the difference to the sanctuary animals (and to us).”
Help keep the sanctuary running smoothly.
